HUMAN GREED
Human Greed are essentially the duo of Michael Begg and Deryk Thomas. They have existed since 1999 and are now, in 2011, up to their fourth album release, 'Fortress Longing', on their own Omnempathy label. In 2008, however, their third album, 'Black Hill: Midnight at the Blighted Star', appeared on Lumberton Trading Company and forged a relationship with the label that has subsequently seen them appear on 2009's limited edition compilation album, 'Autumn Blood (Constructions)'.Often working with guests, 'Black Hill...' itself caught the duo collaborating with artists such as Julia Kent, Fabrizio Palumbo and David Tibet; each and every one fleshing out Human Greed's already labyrinthine electronic sound with some additional moonlit stirrings.
Outside Human Greed and running Omnempathy, Michael Begg has also participated in Fovea Hex and, in 2010, collaborated with Nurse With Wound's Colin Potter on the Fragile Pitches 2CD album. Fovea Hex's album, 'Here Is Where We Used To Sing' (also featuring guests such as Brian Eno, Kate Ellis, Andrew Liles and others), appeared in Spring 2011
Deryk Thomas is also a renowned painter whose work has graced both Swans and Angels of Light albums, as well as some of Human Greed's.
Human Greed's next release on Lumberton Trading Company is an entry in the series of 12"/MLP releases, scheduled for 2012 sometime.
